SAPROPEL EXTRACT

The Sapropel Extract is a biologically active drug for the internal and outside use for the treatment of chronic inflammatory illnesses of animals (illnesses of joints, gynecological illnesses of animals, phacoscotasmus, gastritis, ulcer of a stomach and of duodenum etc.) and stimulation of a weakened organism, especially young.

The Sapropel Extract falls into the category of nonspecific stimulating drugs of a natural origin, has power and bacteriostatic effect. It's obtained by extraction of organic innocuous when used in definite doses extragent from sapropels procured from lakes of Omsk region. It contains hydro - and alcohol-soluble mineral matters.

Biological properties of the Sapropel Extract

Biologically active matters of the Sapropel Extract makes a local and overall effect on an animal organism at the expense of vitamins (Å, Â12) it contains, set of indispensable amino acids, minerals, humic acids and some other biologically active matters derived in Sapropel at anaerobic autolisis of organic remains with minerals in freshwater lakes of Northern part of Omsk region. The complex effect of components normalizes a mineral and vitamin metabolism, boosts blood circulation system and hormone reactions.

The Sapropel Extract helps fast recovery of the uterus and endometrium mucosa after expulsion of the fetus, improves the tone of uterus muscles and stimulates resorption of the yellow body with the subsequent activation of ovulation. The extract removes post-natal hypoglycemic state at the expense of the nutritious properties equal to 20 % solution of glucose. Intrauterine injection of the extract activates contractile ability of uterus muscles, what prevents the detention of afterbirth. Bacteriostatic properties of the drug and stimulation of local protective reactions prevent progressing of post-natal endometrit.

Nowadays versatility and pharmacological effect of the Sapropel has no equal. All known drugs for the intrauterine injection, as a rule, have one or two pharmacological properties of short duration (from several hours to a day). For example, the best of such drugs, as "Executor" and "Geomicin", contain synthetic cholionomimetic (neostigmine methylsulfate) and antibiotic (Tetracycline). The usage of these preparations overstress "loosened" after birth muscles of the uterus and destroys normal microflora of its cavity, what in the total prolongs the final stage of uterus involution and service-period, as well as deprives the uterus' internal medium of it's natural probiological protection. These negative factors result in occupation of uterus cavity by relatively pathogenic-microflora, subinvolutions and, as a corollary, in elongation of service - period and chronic endometrit. Thus, the symptomatic barrenness progresses, which is to be treated with an intensive therapy or continuous valuable pascual upkeep.

The well-timed prevention of post-natal endometrit and subinvolution of the uterus of cows, allows to reduce duration of the fruitless period, to ensure optimal conditions for reproduction and safety of young animals by rational calvings planning and to increase the birth rate and lactescence of the cows.

The SE vaccination of new-born calfs, especially weak and hypertrophical ones provokes faster maturing of the immune system and increases body resistance to unfavorable environmental factors.

Dosage and application of Sapropel Extract

Calfs and pigs take the drug with forage or directly from a nipple-bottle.
To increase the body resistance of a young growth, the SE is given internally at 40-80 ml apiece once a day with the first or second portion of a colostrum during three days. In 3-4 days the course is to be repeated. At acute indigestion of the milk-calfs the drug is given in 50-100 mls doses together with the swill of smaller volumes or substituted for physio-solution or water 2-3 times a day till recovery. If there is a specific virus or bacterial infections any combination with particular drugs is admitted.

To prevent cows from endometrit the drug is injected intrauterly in a single dose of 300-500 mls within 6-12 hours after birth no matter the results of the separation of afterbirth.

Before injection the drug has to be warmed up to the body temperature. As a rule second injection is not required. For animals the drug is easy to bear and doesn't cause any unfavorable effects. Toning-up the uterus after injection excludes any need in usage of drugs, stimulating uterus contraction.

At acute and chronic endometrits a drug is injected at opened cervix of the uterus in a single dose of 200-300 mls, beforehand warmed up to the body temperature.

The comparative analysis of biological effect and usage efficiency of the Sapropel Extract and other preventive remedies against post-natal complications of cows.

  1. Use substantiation

They are: products of an anaerobic hydrolysis of limnetic plankton, ichtiollike matters, vitamins, salts of trace substances, enzymes and Hormones which act as nonspecific stimulants with bacteriostatic properties. Sapropel Extract relieves post-natal hypoglycemic state at the expense of it's nutritious properties, same with those of 20 %'s glucose solution.

  2. Technological advantages of the preventive procedure

    The injection of 200-400 mls of heated (up to 40 Co) extract into the uterus is executed by a veterinary doctor's assistant or an aid-man without special composite training with "Jeane syringe" or "Esmarch cup" within 6-12 hours after birth no matter results of separation of afterbirth.

    Complexity and duration of the injection procedure of SE is similar to that of "Executor" or "Geomicin F". But aortal application of solutions with Aethacridinum for preventive purposes can't be managed by the doctor's assistants and aid-men because of its complexity traumatism, deficit of special toolkit, keeping to the sterility rules.

Pharma-dynamic effects of intrauteral injection of SE-2 within the post-natal reduction period of cows.

Experimental and clinical tests of the Sapropel Extract made it possible to see processes of rehabilitation of physiology of cows reproductional functions which can be explained by the versatility of pharmaco-dynamic effects stipulated, in our opinion, by following components:

  1. Tarlike matters
    In particular densities tars can either cauterize micosas or boost their regeneration. Thus the tar always constrains the growth of a pathogenic microflora, which is a reason of the most illnesses of uterus causing symptomatic barrenness
  2. Ichtiollike matters
    Biological effect of ichtiollike matters is quite similar to tars. However compared with tar which has a local effect (directly on uterus), ichtiol stimulates the whole animal's organism, not loosing it's local bacteriostatic effect
  3. Hormonelike matters and peptides
    In conditions of an anaerobic hydrolysis of animal and plants tissues, the hyperactive biological substances, being the participants of a metabolism, its mediators and predecessors for sinter are stored. These matters first of all influence the internal secretion system (stimulation of Hormones output), immunity, hemopoiesis and stimulate general regenerative functions of organs and tissues

  • Agricultural-industrial complex "Niva"( Pavlogradski region)
    Preventive use of Sapropel Extract "ES-2" lowered the number of calfs, suffering post-natal endometrit and detention of afterbirth from 55 % to 1,8 % and reduced duration of service - period by 15 %.
  • Agricultural-industrial complex "EAR"(Pavlogradski region).
    Cows treated by "ES-2" had no post-natal complications, 20 % of not treated cows suffered the illness.
  • Agricultural- industrial complex "Volnovskoye", Poltavski region
    Treating of newborn calfs, suffering diarrhea, made the medical healing effect in 95 % of cases.
  • Positive results of Sapropel usage drugs were obtained in 1999-2000 when treating cows and calfs in agricultural-industrial complex "Bogoduhovskoye", "Karl Marks", "Lesnoye", "Novokievskoye". All in all over 3000 animals were treated.
