TAR - SAPROPELIC RAW MATERIAL

"Siberian Organics" worked out the way of making sapropelic tar by the thermal processing of sapropel.

The tar is promising raw material used for medical purposes, obtaining chemical matters for organic synthesis, and as a raw material and reagent in chemical, wood-working, farmaceutical industry and veterinary medicine.

By degree of effect on an organism, according to parameters of GOST 12.1.007-76, the tar falls into matters of 4-th class of hazard - low-hazard matters which does not require special safety precautions at production and application. Tar contains 8,6 mkg/g benzopyren.

Omsk branch of Institute of a catalysis named after G.K. Boreskov of Siberian department of the Academy of Science in Russia made a comparative study of commercial birch-tar(reg. ¹ 70/421/2 Pharm. Department of. Moscow from 27.11.97) and pyrolise resin (sapropelic tar), produced by "Vega-2000" Ltd. (Siberian Organics) on a base of sapropel extracted from the Lake "Bolshoy Artev" situated in Omsk region.

Studies of sapropelic raw tar were also carried out by West-Siberian department of Academy of medical-technical science in clinics of Omsk and during the period of April - May 2000 in the troop unit ¹ 65425 and in the municipal ambulance hospital modified balsamic Liniment Vishnevski (Liniment M) for purulent wounds and scorches was used.

Preliminary analysis of "Liniment M" application results showed that the drug made a local medical effect, similar to the original. At the same time, "Liniment M" was more effective in cleaning wounds and stimulation of granulation. This medical phenomenon marked by physicians at preliminary medical test of different patients in various conditions, is a positive property of "Liniment M" and needs further steadfast study in order to improve quality of treatment of purulent-septic patient.

The replacement of expensive imported and perfume-cosmetic means with highly active matters made of cheap local raw material is a very perspective way of Omsk pharmaceutical industry developement.
